- ● Three Way Threaded Ball Valves have 3 Ports and come in two configuration styles, the L-Port and the T-Port.
- Advantages:
- ● An Easy way to select flow from 1 of 2 sources or to divert flow to 1 of 2 outlets.
- ● An easy way to combine flow from 2 sources.
- ● One Item replaces a Tee fitting and multiple ball valves, which would be needed to do the same function.
- Operation:
- ● They are easy to use, with a quarter turn of the handle flow can be diverted from one port to another.
- Reduced Port:
- ● A standard port also called a reduced port, is standard for a 3 way ball valve.
- Threaded:
- ● 3 way threaded ball valves will connect easily to any application with threads.

Different Types:
- ● 3 way ball valves are used to are used to divert flow.
- ● They have 3 ports and come in two Styles "L-Port" and "T-Port", depending on how the Ball is drilled.
- ● The L-Port has two openings drilled at 90 degree's
- ● The T-Port has 3 openings drilled in a T-Shape.
- The "L-Port" - The Diverter Valve (Input Selector)
- ● Allows for flow to occur between two ports in an L-shaped formation.
- ● Also known as a diverter valve because they are most often used to divert flow form a common inlet into one of two outlets.
- ● Can also function as an input selector for a pump switching between one of two sources.
- ● They can shut off all flow.
- The "T-Port"- The Mixing Valve
- ● Allows for flow to occur between any two ports as well as all three ports simultaneously in a T-Formation.
- ● You can direct flow to either of the 2 ports just like the L-Port, and you can have flow through all ports simultaneously.
- ● Also called Mixing Valves because they are widely used to mix the flow coming from two sources.
- ● They cannot shut off all flow. (They can allow all ports to flow like a Tee Fitting.)
